Chapter Text

She had stayed up most of the night, cradling the body of Izuku as he slept soundly, off in dreamland. Her arm that was placed underneath his head had fallen asleep and she didn't mind the tingly sensation. She only stared out the window where she could see the sky, the stars brightly shining down on them.

She counted the stars until she slept, but every time she did she would wake up. She was beginning to get annoyed as all she wanted was to sleep. She thought the snores of the male next to her or his warmth would help, but it only did little.

She let out a muffled groan and dug her face into Izuku's hair, ignoring his shuffling as she got into a better position. She only slept for a couple hours, until she woke up to the bed moving. She raised her hands to wipe her eyes before sitting up, looking at Izuku who removed himself from her, "Leaving already?"

He nodded with a solemn look, "Yeah. The earlier we get there the sooner we arrive. I didn't mean to wake you up."

"It's fine." F/n then stood up, "Couldn't sleep anyways."

He worryingly looked at her as he placed a shirt on, "Are you worried about something?"

"Maybe." She shrugged as her eyes landed on him. Seeing him get dressed up to leave had her heart feeling heavy. She swallowed her saliva as she heard him move to the bottom floor. Her fingers peeled the skin near her nails, blood was then drawn.

She went after him, watching as he placed his shoes, "Hey.."

He hummed as he looked at her, "What is it?"

"When you get back.." She can feel her heart aching and the feeling felt unnatural to her. She didn't like it, not one bit. The only reason why she's even opening her mouth was to calm herself, "Let's go somewhere."

Confusion was written in his face as he stood up. There wasn't anywhere to go, so he wondered if this was her trying to leave, like she always intended, "You want to go somewhere? Where would we even go?"

"We can go to Tokyo." She says, her heart lifting at his smile.

"Tokyo?" He let out a laugh, being caught off guard, "What are we going to do there? We're miles away and reaching the city would take days. Besides, I'm sure there's nothing even there."

"It's my fantasy if we were to live normally. Play along, please." She smiled at him, feeling warm when he stepped closer to her, "Tokyo's pretty big, so we can go shopping or maybe get massages or do whatever it is people do. We can even hold hands, drink out of the same cup with two straws, eat each others food and we can talk about our future. I canevenlet you kiss me in public and you know how much I hate that."

Izuku laughed a blush coating his cheeks as she continued, "We can decide on which school we want to go, move in with each other so we're not apart, look at houses or apartments and talk about other things down the way. We can pretend to be like a normal couple who lives in a normal society, where all we think about is how much we love each other."

She looked down at his shoes, seeing they were neatly laced, "I'm willing to do whatever is you want to if we both leave and live our lives like it was always intended. Even if it's just a fantasy."

Warmth entered his body. His pupils dilated as a set of blush rested on his freckled cheeks. He quickly engulfed her into a hug, tightly wrapping his arms around her as he closed his eyes. He let his cheeks rest on her as he smiled, feeling like everything would be okay, "We can go to the grocery store afterwards and pick up toilet paper. Our dog was playing with it earlier and you know how angry he gets when he's left home alone. ...Well, Little Suki is always angry."

She snorted out a laugh, "Are you implying Katsuki's our dog?"

"Shh, he doesn't have to know." He says, his smile widening. He just wanted to stay for a couple more hours until he felt satisfied on leaving her behind. He had nothing to worry about as the soft kiss and her arms around him had him feeling reassured.

"I love you." She said so softly that she wondered if he even heard her. However, she was proven wrong as he placed a kiss on her forehead, "I promise, I'll come back safe to you. So don't worry.I love you."

Sitting on the driver's seat and throwing stale nuts in his mouth, Dabi boringly looked at the map that was placed on his lap. He rubbed his eye every now and then from the flashlight that he placed above him. His eyes would occasionally glance at the town he was born and raised in.

As Dabi looked for a place to go, Shoto pulled a fence that blocked the roadway and placed it to the side so it wouldn't be in the roadway. Thankfully the fences were already mowed down, so it wasn't heavy as he assumed it would be.

He was thankful for the chilly air as if it were to be hot, he would feel uncomfortable. His clothes and hair would be sticking to him due to the sweat and he would feel like something was crawling on him with sweat dripping down his body.

With the fence out of the way he headed back to his older brother, just in time as the rotters were beginning to wake up, "Are we going back?"

"Nope." Dabi said, continuing to look at the map, "Just a few more miles and then we head back."

"We're hours away." Shoto annoyingly said, his eyes glancing at the morning sky, "There's nothing even out here."

"Sure there is." Dabi looked away from the map and glanced outside, he pointed to anything his eyes saw, "There's cars, freaks, stores, grass, birds-"

"Okay. I get it." Shoto shook his head, "How far to the next destination?"

"'Bout another thirty minutes." Dabi said as he let out a yawn and began to turn the ignition on. He carefully drove around the gates that Shoto had placed to the side, "There's this mall I want to go to, it's famous since all those actors and singers shop there, pretty big too. That's where we want to head."

"A mall?" The little brother eyed him, "Are we going shopping?"

Dabi scoffed, "There's a grocery store and an armory shop somewhere in there. Right next to it is also a mechanical shop. How lucky are we?"

"And what makes you so sure that the place hasn't been ransacked." Shoto asked as he peered out his window, "You said it's a famous mall."

Dabi let out a laugh as he placed a hand on Shoto's hair and began ruffling it, except the action caused the younger male to hit his head on the window, "Just go to sleep, Shoto. I'll wake you up when we get there."

Annoyed, Shoto shoved his hand off him and touched his head where it roughly slammed against the window, "Maybe you should sleep. I can see you eyes drooping."

"Ah, little Sho." Dabi chuckled as he turned to get off the highway, "I'm running on adrenaline. Give it another few hours."

He rolled his eyes again for what seemed like the millionth time. They then turned to the window where the time quickly passed by. What was supposed to be thirty minutes turned into a couple as the second Shoto blinked, they arrived. He figured he had slept, considering he was having trouble keeping his mismatched eyes open.

Dabi watched as a few rotters lingered by. He had a scowl on his face as he slowly drove by, looking for a clear opening. They drove around the mall and when they found the backside where trailers came to drop off their load as well as employee parking, Dabi quickly swerved the car to where he started to park in reverse.

The action caused Shoto to hit his head again, "Can't you drive more carefully?"

"Boring..!" Dabi drawed out as he stopped the car, leaving little space to where he could open the trunk, "You know how to drive, right? I don't remember you behind the wheel."

"I do." The little brother said as he unblocked his seat belt and began to get off with his older brother following. They could both hear the moans of the dead, but that didn't stop either of them.

Shoto followed Dabi to where he opened the backseat and grabbed a duffel bag. He zipped it open and passed a rifle to Shoto, the male remembered seeing the weapon. The gun must've been from Sorston, like every other gun as he realized there was a large "S" written in white marker.

He wondered if F/n had seen that too, or perhaps Dabi's community decided to write it to know which weapons came from other communities.

As soon as Dabi placed his weapon on his shoulder and left the bag inside, they marched up to the side doors where a sign that informed only employees entering was pasted. Dabi turned the knob and seeing it was open, he let out a grin and soon proceeded with Shoto being behind.

He passed a flashlight to Shoto, some of the sunlight peeking through the cracks of the windows and the skylight. They were on the bottom floor and just by shining their lights above them, they knew someone had to be in here, seeing just how many floors there were. Judging by the amount of walk paths that floated from one wall to another, there had to be at least four floors.

It was no wonder this mall was famous. With four floors, who knew how many stores there were. That had caused Dabi to let out a groan of annoyance as he did not want to walk for the entire day. He should have picked elsewhere, but maybe there could be useful items.

Shoto had shone his light to the empty stores beside him. The light had caused his reflection to show on the windows where discount signs were hung, "We should split up. I take this wall, you take the other."

Dabi scoffed, "We're not going shopping, we're here for what we came for."

"This place is huge." Shoto said, "It'll be faster if we split up."

"And let you run off?" Again, the older male scoffed, "Last thing I f*cking need is to run after you like f*cking chickens."

He then gave him a glare, "You run off and I won't hesitate to shoot you. Don't matter if you return dead."

Brotherly love? Out the window and once again Shoto felt like they were right at the beginning. So like a good younger brother, he followed Dabi down the mall, in hopes they could start over. But, really, the chance in that is like the chance of civilization reforming once again.
